Avila Beach, a quaint and beautiful beach located about 10 minutes south from San Luis Obispo, is generally the warmest beach in the Central Coast. Average temperatures vary little during the year. From November to April the temperature ranges from about 40 to 70 degrees Farenheit and 60 to 80 degrees from May until October.
Avila Beach has three piers: Avila Beach Pier, Harford Pier and the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly SLO) Pier. Paddleboarding from pier to pier is a popular activity in Avila Beach.

With Avila Beach’s near perfect weather conditions, there are generally no winds or strong waves. Paddleboarders can enjoy an easy flatwater paddle here and do not have to worry about swift moving tides.
