The New 2017 Naish Series: Surf, Inflatables, & Foil

The 2017 Naish  SUP collection is on its way and we can’t wait to see what these new boards can do in the water. Take a look at the 2017 Naish Surf, Inflatable, and Foil boards:

2017 Naish Surf

2017 Naish Surf

The 2017 Naish Surf collection consists of the Raptor Barebones, Hokua, and Mad Dog series as well as the Nalu 10’0″ Carbon Pro. The surf SUP boards come in Barebones, Carbon Pro, or GTW constructions depending on the board. The new Barebones construction is the perfect combination between performance and savings, offering up a classic, surf-style flex pattern that’s easy on the wallet.

The Raptor boards consist of the Raptor 95 Barebones (7’0″ x 28″), Raptor 115 Barebones (7’0″ x 31″), and Raptor 128 Barebones (7’0″ x 33″). The Raptors take small wave SUP-surfing to the next level. Designed for maximum speed and snappy turns in small, slow waves, these compact boards absolutely tear small-to-medium sized surf to shreds. The compact outline, slab nose, V-bottom shape, relatively sharp rails and quad fin setup allow for unparalleled acceleration directly from take-off while maintaining speed through turns. A V-bottom on the nose delivers forgiving rail-to-rail turning and disperses water along the sides of the board for a smoother ride when paddling through waves or when hitting chop. Wide entry and release create a large “sweet spot”, letting the rider use a much shorter board then he/she is used to, while also creating surprising “float” and stability for boards of their volume. Fitting nicely into the trough of even the smallest of waves, the short length enables riders to pump, trim, slash and carve like never before—not to mention the added benefit of fitting inside a normal compact car!

The favorite Hokua series can be broken down by Hokua Carbon Pros, Hokua GTW, and Hokua x 32 GTW boards. The Hokua Carbon Pros come in 7’3″, 7’8″, 8’0″, 8’3″, and 8’10” sizes. The Carbon Pros were tested and perfected in some of the most notable surf spots in the world, these expert level wave designs are shaped for highly advanced riding and professional competition. Developed alongside such elite riders as SUP World Champion Kai Lenny, Bernd Roediger and Kody Kerbox, this range of ultra-high performance wave boards are constantly evolving as the sport progresses. Lightweight and stiff, the new Carbon Pro construction delivers the most direct feel than any other board in the range, for a crisp and responsive riding experience.
The Hokua GTW series is ideal for intermediate-to-advanced waveriders, the Hokua GTW Series allows riders to make the most of every wave. Our collaboration with Gerry Lopez focuses on predictable, easy-to-ride designs that deliver super-smooth carving. The rocker design creates a large sweetspot, which results in effortless take-off, quick acceleration and responsive down-the-line surfing. Situated between our high-performance Hokua Carbon Pros and our most stable Hokua X32 Series, the GTWs come in three sizes (8’6”, 9’0” and 9’6”) accommodating up to 180 lbs., 190 lbs. and 220 lbs. respectively. For added flexibility, all boards in the GTW range can be ridden as a thruster or quad, granting riders the option to adapt the board to their riding style and conditions.

The more stable Hokua x 32 GTW boards come in 7’10”, 8’3″, 8’8″, 9’1″, and 9’6″ sizes. All extremely accessible at 32” wide, Hokua X32 GTW boards offer a balanced blend of responsive turning, superb acceleration, stability and wave-catching ease. Amazingly easy to ride, these boards rip small-to-medium-sized waves to shreds. The bottom shape has a single-concave nose, a slight V in the center section and an accelerated V in the tail for looser rail-to-rail performance and acceleration in low-to-moderate wave speeds. The amplified outline curve and rocker make them perfect for close interval waves, beach breaks and for getting the absolute most out of less powerful waves. For added flexibility, all boards in the Hokua X32 GTW range can be ridden as a thruster or quad, granting riders the option to adapt the board to their riding style and conditions.

Positioned between the slimline Hokua and wider Hokua X32 series, Mad Dog boards are characterized by their significant volume and low profile rails. At 29” wide, these high-performance wave boards strike an excellent balance between stability and responsiveness and appeal to riders looking for heightened performance in a more accessible format. The boards come in both Carbon Pro and Barebones constructions and include 7’10”, 8’1″, and 8’6″ sizes.

The Nalu 10’0” Carbon Pro is a high-performance, longboard-style SUP. Designed for riders seeking optimal responsiveness, direct feel and enhanced nose-riding ability, the refined foiling allows for maximum drive with minimal effort. The narrow outline—combined with the option to ride as a thruster or quad—grants the freedom and flexibility to enjoy this design in waves knee-high to double overhead.
