The Battle of the Paddle was once again a great success. The event was held in Dana Point, California — a spot known to provide perfect conditions for flatwater races. Dana Point not only boasts natural beauty, but it has a beach break, which made things spicy for paddlers and spectators.

The International Paddle Sport trade show took place from October 5th to 7th this year, at the International Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg, Germany. The show featured everything having to do with kayaking and canoeing, as well as folding boats, inflatables, paddles, clothing and accessories, and for the second time — an SUP section.

Naish Germany SUP forerunner Christian Hahn and sister Corinna made the cover of a local newspaper in Berlin — talking about the benefits of stand-up paddling and how you can do it anytime and anywhere.

October 9th was a big day for Chia, on the southwest cape of Sardinia. It was the last stop of the Italian Racing SUP Championship.

The second stop of the Primi Naish SUP Race Series visited Simonstown, South Africa on the 17th of October. Calm seas and zero wind made perfect conditions for the 18 competitors racing the 6 km course.

Like most great ideas, the idea to cross the Strait of Gibraltar came up while having a beer with some friends. Besides being the second most frequented shipping lane in the world, the strait hosts strong currents and rapidly changing wind conditions.

Ian Alldredge and Reo Stevens spent the summer scouring the Southern Hemisphere for epic conditions. Madagascar, Bali and Indo delivered the goods, based on the shots that we are getting teased with.

Kevin Langeree was optimistic that physical therapy and rest would be enough to stabilize his knee. Looks like that was a bit too optimistic. Kevin will be going under the knife shortly to repair the damage. We wish Kevin a speedy recovery!

The island of Sardinia hosted the San Teodoro E...Vento recently. Naish kite designer Damien Girardin and Naish Pro rider Sam Light flew in to help highlight the 2011 Naish kite collection.

A gorgeous day greeted the paddlers of the 22-mile Fall Classic at Lake Tahoe. The start was at 8 am — with sunshine, warm weather and no wind.
