What is Kiteboarding?

There is a sport that is like surfing, wakeboarding, and flying all at once.  If you’ve ever been to Pismo Beach on a windy day, you will see over two dozen kiteboarders in the water or doing tricks high above it.  Most of these riders are ordinary people that are simply addicted to this amazing extreme sport called kiteboarding.

Kiteboarding uses the wind to combine the aspects of surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and windsurfing into one extreme ocean sport.  The kite, anywhere from 6-20 square meters, powers the rider through the water.  The kite will have either 4 or 5 lines up to 27 meters long that connect to a control bar, which the rider pushes and pulls to control the kite in any direction.  The bar hooks into the rider’s harness, which is most often worn around the waist. A board similar to a wakeboard or surfboard enables the rider to fly over the water. Check out our kites, boards, and harnesses here

The XM-X4 configuration is an 8-motor craft in coaxial arrangement. This ‘X" setup offers a wide angle of view and some additional redundancy. In our FAQ we have explained further the differences between horizontal plane and coaxial configurations. The XM-X4 can be fitted with engines up to AXi2814/22 class and offer a perfect professional solution for the mirrorless DSLR"s.

Core XM-X4

The core of your XM-X4 craft consists of high quality carbon fiber center plates and comes complete with flight control adaptor plate. On strategic places rivnuts are fitted for assisting easy pack down once you have build your full craft for transport and travel. Industrial grade graphite fiber filled composite internal boom mounting create a rock solid construction for your XM-X4.
Booms and engine mounting XM-X4

This boom set consists of 355mm carbon fiber tubes with. High-end gloss finish and allow for fitting up to 13" props. The industrial grade composite engine mounts support motors in the class AXi 2814/22 and are fitted with anodized aluminium mounting disks for heat dissipation and cosmetic appeal.
Boom nacelles and engine mount boots as well as two extra orange engine mount sets are included in the kit.
XM Landing Gear and Gear Rail Assembly Standard

Quick release landing gear/gear rail assembly with advanced vibration dampening technology. Dual battery mounting on rubber protectors with battery strap keepers. The snap on/off twin skid sets further add to a quick pack down. New
streamlined design and cosmetic appeal with ground clearance of 210mm to fit camera mounts like the PH AV130.
Crash cage 5-spoke + dome XM/SkyJib Lite

The all new 5-spoke crash cage consists of a fiberglass cage contruction mounted on a impact absorbing aluminium ring. We furthermore include. Highly impact resistant polycarbonate dome for further protection against moist and dust. You can use either or, or both – the dome fits underneath the crash cage. Both the crash cage and the dome attach to your center section with quick release mounting posts allowing easy access to your flight electronics.
