Information
The Neutron is available from March 2009 in five sizes – 3m, 5m, 7m, 9m, 12m and in four different colours. The kite is supplied as a 4-line kite running on 20m lines. 5th-line and 5m extensions are available as an upgrade. The kite is available either complete with bar and lines or kite only.

Technology
Flexifoil are a company who strive to meet the demands of all levels of kitesurfer. The same kite technologies created through working with the world's best riders, such as PKRA World Champion kitesurfer Aaron Hadlow, have improved our kites at every level of our product range. Many of the design techniques used to max out the HadlowPro have hugely increased the performance of the Neutron, whilst retaining the accessibility and ease of use that Flexifoil are renowned for.

Rock solid - stability
The front loaded aerofoil keeps the power in the front of the kite. In gusty conditions, it's nose drives forward keeping the kite in the sky - this makes the Neutron very forgiving for beginners, and a confidence booster when flying in challenging conditions.
Direct and fast turning
The hybrid design delivers a progressive, predictable feel throughout the whole turn. The feedback you get though the bar enables you to know exactly what the kite is doing at all times, so you can concentrate on riding.
Boost with smooth predictable float
The powerful profile together with moderate aspect ratio plan-form, provide a well balanced bar pressure which makes the kite forgiving and easy to feel – getting jumps dialled is simple. Within its normal wind range sending the kite results in big jumps with outstanding float.

freestyle, freeride or wave riding
The kite works great for freestyle tricks due to it's solid power. It has great depower and snappy turning making the kite great in the waves, and has numerous safety options available for the beginner and intermediate rider. The Neutron delivers a great ride whether you're into freestyle, freeride or wave-riding.
Simplicity through design
This hybrid design kite uses two high quality Riley Pulleys in the bridle to give great depower range. These have been designed to work in tough marine environments.
The kite is also fitted with the EZ-Pump system and the flying lines are colour-coded to offer a fast, easy and safe set-up straight ‘out of the bag'.
Setup Options, 20m or 25m / 4-line or 5-line
The standard set-up for the kite is with 4-line mode on 20m lines. This gives a great balance in keeping the kite close for good controllability, good speed on the water and excellent high end wind range. To extend the low end wind range of the kite, or have a larger wind window we offer upgrade 5m line extenders, to take it to 25m lines.
The kite is configured so it can also be flown with a 5th line (5th-line pack available as an optional extra). When you are using the 5th line option, novices will be able to relaunch the kite with ease and have added confidence which the 5-line safety system offers.

Quality built-in
The leading edge tube is made from Dimension Polyant 175gm Dacron. This is the most expensive Dacron on the market, and our testing has shown it is more stable (lowest bias deformation), most durable (the resin keeps the fibres bonded together longer, and the yarns have highest breaking strength, so has the best tear strength). By using this fabric it produces the most accurate Leading edge when compared to the designed shape, which helps keep the kites performance over its life time, (crashing in the water with inferior Dacron's can lead to stretching of the fibres and deforming kites with reduced flight performance).
Safety First
The Neutron primary release is simple to use and dependable. The system kills 90% of the power in one fast action. The kite comes down at the edge of the window ready for relaunch. This is a proven safety system which is used on all other Flexifoil water kites. We believe that it's the best system available on the market for ease of use , reliability, and ease of re-assembly – possible even when it's underwater.

Neutron Bar system
Borrowing technology from our Ion3 range, the Neutron Bar is simple, effective and comfortable. You can trim the kite with ease whilst riding. The Bar pressure give great feedback without being too heavy on your arms making for a comfortable session. The centre line and leader lines are all easily adjustable, meaning no matter your size you'll be able to set the bar up to suit. A number of parts of the bar are also upgradable meaning that as your ability grows you can customise the bar to suit.


Leading Edge Construction
Incredibly robust and strong, the Neutrons Leading edge tube is heavily reinforced to withstand heavy use. The construction process has been borrowed from our other successful water kites – no compromises have been made!
Rigid Strut System
The connection between the struts and the leading edge tube borrow technology from the Atom08. The very rigid frame helps the kite maintain the designed aerofoil shape.
Dacron Cage
The kite is protected by Dacron reinforcement strips. These strips run from wingtip to wingtip along the leading edge and down the struts. Dacron is only placed on areas of the kite that need them, providing strength to high stress and wearable areas of the kite.
Leading Edge Reinforcements
Silicon reinforcements have been positioned along the leading edge to protect the kite from damage whenever the kite comes into contact with the ground.
Oversize Wingtips
The large diameter of the leading edge wingtip struts help prevent the kite from deforming when turning. These stiff wingtips hold their shape and provide a direct and responsive feel.

Segmented Leading Edge
As with all Flexifoil water kites the leading edge is segmented to ensure a precise shape for better performance and strength. The joins of these individual segments have been covered with patches of polyester to protect them from the harsh beach environment.
Leading edge Abrasion Resistance
We have attempted to maximise the ability of the kite to withstand scrapes and wear, but keep the weight and drag implications of the reinforcements to a minimum for excellent flight performance. There are tough polyester patches covering every leading edge seam that comes into contact with the beach, to protect this important stitch line and we have newly designed slim moulded strips to protect the kite's canopy on the beach.
Intelligent Aerofoil Design
The Neutron's aerofoil is designed to provide powerful boost, good low-end performance, lots of depower and make the kite resistant to back-stalling.
ANTI-FLUTTER Battens
Two small battens are positioned into the trailing edge near the wingtips. These are reinforced with Dacron, and create a stiffer trailing edge with clean release for turbulent air. This reduces drag and provides an increased turn speed. The battens are as small as possible to reduce weight. They are also uniform in size across the whole range.
Uniform Pressure Design
The strut diameters have been designed in conjunction with the leading edge diameter to ensure adequate stiffness throughout the kite. The struts and leading edge maintain a uniform pressure which gives the kite a rigid structure for maximum aerodynamic performance.
Molten Bladder Technology
2009 sees the introduction of improved bladder welding techniques to Flexifoil water kites. The new welding process has been tested up to a sweltering 100 degrees centigrade to make sure it will stand up to extreme conditions felt in all the world's hottest kitesurf locations.

Optional 5th-Line Attachment
For riders who prefer to ride using a 5th line system for added safety and self-landing, there is an optional 5th line available. This item can be ordered separately via the flexifoil website or your local dealer. The 5th line is to be used in conjunction with the bridle, not separately. The kite is supplied with the 5th-line top attachment.
Single Point E-Z Inflation
All the struts and the leading edge are interconnected so you can inflate the kite through one single inflation valve, making your kite quick and easy to set up and ride. Attached to the leading edge are ‘inflate' and ‘deflate' valves making the kite easy to set up and pack down.
COLOUR CODED LINES
All Neutron kites are supplied with colour-coded lines and toggles to ensure that mistakes are not made during set up. The ‘toggle and loop' system means that is near impossible to make a mistake of connecting your front lines to the back toggles or vice versa. The bridle attachment points on the leading edge are now located further round the bottom of the leading edge, so they are protected when the kite is resting on the ground.
Reinforced Strut Ends
Rugged strut ends made with an anti-abrasive material help protect the struts when handling the kite. The enlarged strut tips also make for an easier bladder replacement process.
Wingtip Dump Valve
We were the first company to introduce this feature which makes it quick to deflate and roll up the kite after a session. Open the tip valve, main valves and air clamps and then roll up the kite from one end to the other. The air is expelled in one motion and leaves the kite ready to pack away.

Optional 5th-Line Attachment
The simplest yet most effective safety release system on the market. The primary release cover is always where you would expect to find it – just above your chicken loop. This means that it is quick and easy to find and activate. The simple reconnection process is intuitive, possible to do under the water and - with experience - with only one hand!
Retro-fittable
As well as working with the Neutron, the bar is also compatible with all our legacy hybrid-style water kites (Ion and Atom range).
Bar ergonomics
The grip on the bar is soft and easy on the hands, so that even in cold weather your bar is far more comfortable and will not make your hands sore - even after prolonged use. Ergonomic bar ends provide a solid connection point at the end of the bar to improve the overall feedback from the kite whilst turning. The soft over-moulding protects your hands when kite looping and enables easy line storage on the bar.
Easy adjustability of centre line length
People of all shapes and sizes fly Flexifoil kites. The bar is fitted with a simple system enabling you to adjust the length of your centre line. We have clearly labeled the centre line and on the leader lines, enabling you to know exactly where you need to attach your lines when altering the centre line length.
Centre line durability
Through prolonged use, all centre lines wear. We have worked hard to make sure that our centerline is one of the best available on the market. We use heavy-duty 5.6mm, 12 strand, Dyneema® line which is wax coated to improve durability and resilience.
Centre line wear indicator
The confidence inspiring centre line has a red-coloured secondary internal line which indicates the amount of wear. When the outer Dyneema® line wears, the inner red line becomes visible. This internal line has enough strength to enable you to comfortably make it back to the beach even if you are a long way out.
